Just ten years ago, online classes were virtually unheard of, yet now they are in nearly every university, and they definitely are not going to disappear anytime soon. While many educators are jumping onboard the e-classroom train, there are those who feel hesitant and insist on face-to-face teaching. But could there be the perfect compromise for both types of educators? Blended classrooms, an in-class and e-learning hybrid, provides the best of both worlds.

Presenters

Mark Lederer has been teaching at Bishop O'Dowd High School since 2001. He currently teaches in both the Religious Studies and Social Studies Departments. He has been developing online courses and teaching online since 2010 in both synchronous, asynchronous, and blended environments.


Summer Dittmer

Summer Dittmer taught high school Drama, Online Expository Writing, English and Honors English for 11 years. Aside from teaching 12th grade Literature, she is the Student Activities Coordinator at Mercy High School in Burlingame, CA. She has trained teachers in developing online curriculum, along with assisting in implementing effective one-to-one iPad programs. Summer also creates professional development webinars for Turnitin, emphasizing how instructors can effectively integrate technology into their curriculum.
