A challenge that many educators face is developing prompts that will provoke their students to think critically and deeply about a topic. There are always multiple issues at play for successful prompt generation: What's appropriate to the students' levels of learning? What are the instructional goals to achieve? And, where does one go to get prompt content?

Presenters

Charles Trafford has been teaching English for 13 years at Inglemoor High School. He currently teaches AP Literature English and Pre-IB English 10. His passion is in researching, promoting, and teaching media literacy. He recently wrote a chapter for the National Council of Teachers of English book, "Creating Media-Rich Classrooms: New Approaches for Middle and Secondary Teachers." He also teach media literacy classes for Western Washington University's graduate teaching program.
 


Jason Chu is Education Director for Turnitin. His focus is on working to build resources for educators, and his personal passion is to find better ways to enhance student achievement.  He will be moderating this webcast.
