Promptastic: Driving Student Engagement with Effective Prompts
In this webinar, we will discuss how well-designed prompts can further course goals as well as student growth and engagement. We’ll particularly discuss how to use Revision Assistant prompts to develop critical thinking and to consider essential questions and other inquiry-based lessons and tasks. This webinar will also go over how smaller assignments can be a major part of students’ learning process, both in the traditional English/Composition classroom, and as part of Writing Across the Curriculum initiatives.
Presenters
Stephanie Butler is Director of New Product Development at Turnitin. She builds products that support secondary and higher education writing instruction using state-of-the-art technology. Stephanie brings a breadth of pedagogical and technological experience to her job, and strives to create useful, intuitive, and delightful tools for teachers and students.
Jamie Calhoun, PhD, is a content specialist at Turnitin. She has 15 years’ experience teaching writing at the college level.
