Writing happens in so many ways (by hand, by keyboard, voice and thumb, just to name a few). But each mode brings with it unique advantages and challenges. Join Steve Graham, Mary Emily Warner Professors at Arizona State University, as he discusses how the writing modes of hand, keyboard and voice impact both the reader and the writer.
Additionally, we’ll explore the” beyond”-- new modes of writing that are starting to become available.

Presenters
Steve Graham is the Warner Professor in the Division of Leadership and Innovation in Teachers College. He has been involved in the development and testing of digital tools for supporting writing. Steve is the editor of the Journal of Educational Psychology. He is the co-author of the Handbook of Writing Research and Powerful Writing Strategies for All Students, among others. Steve has served as an advisor to a variety of organizations, including UNESCO, National Institute of Health, and National Writing Project.
Hannah Lesk is an Education Program Manager for Turnitin. Her passion is using technology to empower educators and move the needle on student learning outcomes. Prior to joining Turnitin, Hannah worked as an education researcher at SRI's Center for Technology in Learning and designed ed tech tools at several startups. She holds a master’s degree from Harvard Graduate School of Education.
